Fancy an outdoor adventure?
Vojak is the highest peak of the Učka Mountains, located in the Istria region of Croatia. At 1,401 metres above sea level, the peak offers a breathtaking view of the Adriatic coast, the Kvarner Bay and the surrounding islands. Vojak is a popular destination for hikers, so it is little wonder that there are several hiking trails leading to the summit.
The best view in Istria
The route leads through dense forests and over stony paths, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings along the way. The climb to the summit is moderate to demanding and requires adequate physical fitness and equipment.
On the summit of Vojak there is an observation tower built in 1911. The tower is 22 metres high and offers an even better view of the surroundings. Near the summit there is also a monument to the fallen soldiers of the First World War, which was also built in 1911. It is an important historical site in the region.
The Učka Mountains and Vojak are important habitats for many rare plant and animal species. There are therefore several nature reserves in the region that aim to protect the unique flora and fauna of the area.
